Hello! It's been awhile since I posted, due to a brief-yet-impactful stint at the post office over the holiday season. It was fun, but I don't think I will ever do that again. For all the postal workers out there, I seriously respect and appreciate all you do to deliver the mail each and every day.
Here's a Valentine's Day card I created using new dies from Poppystamps! The scripts and the balloon had such a fun, vintage feel to them, so I went with it and created a romantic hot air balloon Valentine.
I love old postcards; in fact, I purchased a large box of them at a recent auction. I'll show a few of them in my video, but some of them dated back as far as 1904!
The hot air balloon was so much fun to make. I modified the original die to include the heart banner, and ran gold thread through the hearts prior to inlaying them. I love how this turned out!
I tried a new technique that was fun and easy. Instead of embossing the entire background, I used a diffusing plate, which created the oval and sparing a second layer. (I'll show how I did this in the video below).
